Overseas Partner Institution of the Affiliated People’s Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

        响应“一带一路”倡议，非洲中医及针灸中心于2025年获授牌成为福建中医药大学附属人民医院海外合作单位，致力于推动中医药在非洲地区的临床服务、学术交流、人才培养与文化传播。

中心依托中国优质中医医疗与教育资源，汇聚海内外专家力量，积极开展中医特色诊疗技术推广、国际学术合作、青年人才培养与公众健康教育，不断提升中医药在非洲的专业影响力与社会认可度，为中医药国际化发展贡献力量。

In response to the Belt and Road Initiative, the Africa Centre of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture was officially designated in 2025 as an Overseas Partner Institution of the Affiliated People’s Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Centre is committed to advancing clinical services, academic exchange, talent development, and cultural promotion of Chinese medicine across Africa.

Drawing on high-quality medical and educational resources from China, the Centre brings together experts from China and abroad to promote the application of distinctive Chinese medicine therapies, strengthen international academic collaboration, support the development of young professionals, and enhance public health education. Through these efforts, the Centre continues to expand the professional influence and social recognition of Chinese medicine in Africa and contributes to its global development.

Guided by the principles of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Overseas Partner Centre of the Affiliated People’s Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine serves as a platform for advancing the international development of Chinese medicine. Through clinical services, academic exchange, capacity building, and public health outreach, the Centre is committed to:

  • Promoting the dissemination and application of high-quality Chinese medicine expertise in Africa;

  • Strengthening cooperation and exchange between China and Africa in the field of health;

  • Enhancing the international recognition and influence of Chinese medicine through evidence-informed practice and cultural engagement;

  • Supporting sustainable collaboration by fostering local partnerships and cultivating professional talent.

The Centre is dedicated to building a long-term platform for international cooperation and contributing to improved global health and wellbeing.

Vision

The Centre aspires to become a leading platform for the dissemination and development of Chinese medicine in Africa, fostering cross-cultural, cross-border, and interdisciplinary collaboration. By establishing high-level international exchange mechanisms and promoting the integration of Chinese medicine with local health systems, the Centre’s vision is to:

  • Develop into an internationally recognised overseas demonstration centre for Chinese medicine;

  • Serve as a key bridge for China–Africa cooperation in traditional medicine and professional training;

  • Strengthen the contribution of Chinese medicine to global health initiatives;

  • Promote the localisation, standardisation, and sustainable development of Chinese medicine in Africa.

With a spirit of openness, collaboration, and shared commitment, the Centre seeks to contribute to global health advancement and enable Chinese medicine to benefit broader communities worldwide.
