Rebaone Monama is a registered acupuncturist and complementary medicine practitioner in Sandton, South Africa, specialising in acupuncture, and integrative healthcare. He combines Chinese Medicine, evidence-based acupuncture techniques, and modern health technologies to provide patient-centred, results-driven treatment for a wide range of conditions. Rebaone holds a degree in Complementary Medicine and a Master’s degree in Sports Science with distinction, with a clinical focus on musculoskeletal disorders, sports injuries, and pain management, particularly through cupping therapy and acupuncture. His advanced training enables him to effectively treat chronic pain, muscle injuries, joint dysfunction, and mobility limitations. He currently serves as the National Secretary of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Africa (CMAAA), where he contributes to professional development, clinical standards, and the advancement of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in South Africa and across Africa. In addition to his leadership within CMAAA, he serves as a Director on two committees of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) the Chinese Medicine Health Management Committee and the Committee for the Inheritance of Distinguished Experts, contributing to global efforts that preserve traditional knowledge and strengthen clinical excellence.Rebaone also champions public health education and community outreach, offering wellness consultations and participating in health awareness initiatives that introduce diverse communities to the benefits of acupuncture and complementary medicine. Rebaone Monama is one of the first five acupuncture practitioners in South Africa to receive formal training in Pestle Needling Therapy in China, making him a pioneer in introducing this advanced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) technique to Africa. Through intensive clinical training in China, Rebaone gained hands-on experience in the authentic application of pestle needling, learning directly from experienced Chinese Medicine practitioners. This technique enhances blood circulation, reduces inflammation, releases deep muscle tension, and accelerates natural healing and rehabilitation, making it highly effective for patients who do not respond to conventional acupuncture alone. By bringing Pestle Needling Therapy to South Africa and Africa at large, Rebaone Monama has expanded the scope of advanced acupuncture treatments available locally.
